Serena & Lily Shore Dining Chair Review

Last fall, our dining room got a major upgrade with a new Serena and Lily dining table and chairs. Since then, it’s become our new favorite hangout room in the house! That was my entire goal for the project, as I really wanted to maximize every room in our small home. Since we’ve been living with and using our new furniture for a few months now, I thought I’d share a bit about how we’ve been liking our new Shore Dining chairs.

The chairs in this space were the main driving factor for wanting to make a change, as I wanted something that was comfortable enough for us to spend hours sitting in them in the evenings. We have my parents over for dinner often, and we wanted to create a space where we could have a meal and be comfortable enough to sit and talk afterwards for a couple hours. The Shore Dining chairs are definitely the perfect fit for just that! The deeper seat and padded seat cushion are very comfortable. I’ve added in a decorative throw pillow to each chair to provide some back support, which makes these chairs super easy to lounge in for hours. I love that they are deep enough to accommodate a pillow, as it also allows me to add another layer of color, pattern, and texture to the space to create a welcoming feel.

My husband and I love doing puzzles, especially in the winter months. We like to do a puzzle every single night, and will sit at the table for hours working on them. The Shore Dining chair is so easy to for us to sit in for long periods of time as we work on puzzles until late in the evening. I’m 5’3”, and I’ve found the seat has plenty of room my legs up in with the blanket on colder nights. Our dining room also gets the most natural light in the house, and has the best view of the backyard, especially in the summertime. I tend to sit here on sunny days and look out the window at our gardens, so having a comfortable place to sit was definitely on my list. Since we used our old dining room so infrequently before, I had considered turning this room into a sitting room. With our new comfortable Shore Dining chairs, I feel like I have the best of both—a comfortable place to sit and enjoy the sunshine, but also a place to have a meal and entertain.

Our dogs love them, too! We each always have at least one dog sitting in our Shore Dining chairs with us. The seat cushion is covered in Serena & Lily’s perennials fabric, which is a really durable, easily wipeable performance fabric. We’re never worried about stains or spills with these cushions. They are machine-washable, and will stand up to years of use and plenty of entertaining. The Shore Dining chair cushion covers come in a variety of colors and patterns, which is another great way to add in some personality to the space, or change up the look from season to season. I’m going to link a few of my favorite Shore Dining chair cushion covers below.

Apart from their comfort and functionality, the Shore Dining chair is beautiful! I really love the curves and silhouette of the chairs. They has a really unique look that is sure to elevate any space. The woven rattan frame feels warm and inviting, and keeps the space feeling casual. The handle detail at the top of the chair makes them easy to pull out or push in to the table, and they’re light weight enough to do so with just one hand. I really love the pairing to the Shore Dining chairs with our Faux Bois dining table. They both have a natural feel to them that keeps our dining space inviting but unique. The Faux Bois dining table is truly a work of art! The gathered twig base is such a beautiful detail that makes the table feel almost like a sculpture.

Overall, we’re very happy that we added the Shore Dining chairs to our dining room this fall. We were able to enjoy them over the holidays and have spent countless hours sitting in them this winter doing too many puzzles to count! They’ve not only made our dining space more enjoyable, but have also made it more functional as well. Since we live in a smaller home, it’s really important to us to have each room serve multiple purposes. Since adding in these new Serena and Lily pieces we can definitely say that, and we’ve spent many many more hours in our dining room over the last few months because of it.

Right now Serena and Lily is having their Spring Design Event, where everything is 20% off! If you’ve had your eye on something special, now is the time to bring it home! Use code: HOME. I’m going to link a few more of my favorite Serena and Lily dining pieces below!

Serena & Lily Pillow Review

Today’s post is all about one of my favorite decor elements—pillows! They are one of my favorite accessories to add to a space, so I’m very excited to be giving a full review of my pillows from Serena & Lily! I have been hooked on them for many years now, and have them in just about every room in our home! I’m going to be reviewing many of the pillows that we have in our home that are in stock, some of which are on sale for some amazing prices right now!

I have been filling our extra deep sofa in our living room with Serena & Lily pillows for many years now, they’ve definitely become a staple in this space. Our sofa is 47” deep, so we need some really large and fluffy pillows in this space for the times when we want to sit a bit more propped up on the sofa without sinking in. Aside from the beautiful pillow covers themselves, Serena & Lily makes my very favorite pillow inserts. They are extremely full and give the pillows a fluffy and elevated look. The right insert can make all the difference in the look and feel of the pillow cover, and it’s a detail that should not be overlooked. With other pillow inserts I find I always have to size up one to two sizes to give the pillow a full look, but whenever I use Serena & Lily inserts I go for the exact size of the pillow cover, and it’s always a perfect fit!

The pillow inserts are filled with premium feathers and down, and give the pillows a very sturdy and substantial feel to them. They provide just the right amount of cushion when you lean back on them, without deflating and getting flat. When they do get a little smashed after sitting on them, they fluff back up nicely and look good as new!

I love the attention to detail that Serena & Lily adds to all of their pillows. Whether it’s an embroidered touch or an embellishment, all of their pillows have a unique and custom feel. The Seascape Pillow Cover has been a longtime favorite of mine. I’ve used it in our bedroom, and currently have them on our living room sofa. The smoke color is the perfect warm gray, and starburst symbol with hand embroidered knots give this pillow great texture and dimension. The fringe edges keep the pillow feeling casual and effortless, making it the perfect piece for any space! It’s currently on sale right now for the amazing price of $49.99! It’s also available in a beautiful washed indigo color, which makes the perfect backdrop for the starburst pattern and embroidery really pop.

Two new discoveries of mine are the Surfside and Bowden Pillow Covers that I have paired with my Seascape Pillows. The Surfside pillow is made of a super thick and cotton/linen blend fabric that’s soft to the touch but extremely durable. Our dogs play and sleep on this pillow all day long and it has held up wonderfully! The mixed stripe design gives the pillow a vintage feel, and the chunky tassels add a more elevated and custom feel.

The Bowden Pillow is a great not-so-basic layering piece. It comes in a ton of colors, and the thick fringe trim gives it a more unique look. It’s a great solid colored pillow to add in to break up patterns and textures, and is a year-round staple in our house! I have it in the 12x21” white (shown) and the 20” coastal blue.

Everyone in our house loves these pillows! From the dining room to the bedroom, I’ve added in as many Serena & Lily pillows throughout our home as I can. We love being cozy, and these fluffy pillows add a beautiful finishing touch to any space! At any given time throughout the day, you are sure to find a least one person or pet lounging in our Serena & Lily pillows.

I love adding them to our new Shore Dining Chairs to create a cozy spot to sit at the dining table for hours. My husband and I do a puzzle every single night in the winter, so these fluffy pillows help make the hours we spend sitting at our dining table super cozy and comfortable. Our course, anytime we’re sitting in a chair we’re sure to have (at least) one dog with us, typically curled up on top of one of our Serena & Lily pillows.

It’s important to us to not have items that are too precious that they are off limits to our pets, so we let them sit wherever they’d like. More often than not, that’s on top of a Serena & Lily pillow! Over the years they’ve held up nicely to the constant use from the dogs and the two of us, and after a quick fluff of the super plush inserts they look good as new!

If you’ve been on the fence about purchasing some Serena & Lily pillows for your home, now is the time to try them out! There are so many great styles on sale for some of the lowest prices I’ve ever seen! These pillows are classic and well made—perfect if you’re looking for year-round staples. They’re super versatile and will work in any room in your home for many years!

I’m going to link all of the pillows that we have in our home, along with a few new styles that I currently have my eye on!

Getting Organized with the New Home Edit Collection from Walmart

Organizing is one of my very favorite things to do! I love when everything in our home has a designated spot so that it’s easier to keep our house tidy. I’m so excited about the new Home Edit Collection at Walmart home! I loved watching their Netflix show “Get Organized with The Home Edit” this past year. Their clean and minimal aesthetic is so inspiring to me, so I love that they have their own line of chic, clear storage bins available exclusively at Walmart!

We recently got this dresser in our entryway to help with storage in our small home, so I wanted to get things in order using The Home Edit’s new collection. This dresser houses a lot of our winter gear, so I used a combination of the large and narrow everything bins in the top three drawers to help categorize and corral all the smaller items.

I’m so happy with the way our dresser came together, I’m going to be shopping more of the The Home Edit collection for other spaces in our home. They have some great organizational bins for the pantry, bathroom, laundry room, and even holiday decor! I’m linked more of my favorites from the collection below. Happy organizing!

Walmart Winter Savings

Today I’m sharing a few decor finds from Walmart Home that I have had in our home for a while now and are currently on sale during their Winter Savings Event! I like to give our home a fresh and clean look at the beginning of the year, so I’ve incorporated these pieces in many spaces throughout our home. All of the pieces I’m going to be sharing are great finishing touches that help a space feel warm and inviting.

Starting off with our living room—I purchased these pillows this past fall, and have been so impressed with the quality! The two fringed gray pillows are from Gap Home, and only $19 regular price! The other three styles are from the My Texas House line and are on MAJOR sale, from $8-$14! I will link them below.

Next up is this basket tray from Better Homes and Gardens that’s only $27! It’s the perfect piece to corral items on a coffee table, dresser, or console table, and adds so much warmth and texture. I’ve added it to the dresser in my office to warm things up a bit in here.

A few more staples that can be used anywhere, are this simple white vase, resin picture frame, and three wick ceramic candle. I like to move these pieces around the house often to change up the styling each season! There are so many good deals to explore during Walmart’s Winter Savings Spectacular, it’s a great time to treat yourself to some new decor! I’m going to link a few more of my finds below!

Gifts For Home Lovers & You

Today I’m sharing some Walmart finds that would make great gifts for home lovers as well as yourself! With so many awesome sales happening this time of year, it’s also a great time to gift yourself something you’ve been eyeing or might make your home life easier or more enjoyable!

I always end up finding some pieces for myself while I’m checking off my list, and today I’m sharing one great find that would be perfect for gifting to yourself and others! My husband and I have been wanting a robot vaccum for a few years now, and I found the Anker Eufy RoboVac on sale at Walmart for $144 (regularly $349)! With three dogs running around our home these days, it’s so nice to have a daily chore checked off the list without having to lift a finger! The Anker Eufy RoboVac works with the Eufy Home app and includes home mapping to purposefully clean across all surfaces. My favorite part is that it’s slim enough to fit under our bed! As a lifelong allergy sufferer, I’m really excited about having these hard to clean areas taken care of daily!

Walmart has plenty of in stock, ready to ship gifts in their curated gift guides! You can shop by price, persona, and browse their designer picks as well. They also have a lot of items that you can purchase online and pick up same-day, either in store or curbside! I’m going to round up a few of my picks for home lovers below that would make wonderful gifts for others or yourself!

Holiday Entertaining with Serena and Lily

Today I’m sharing a holiday tablescape idea and some new updates to our dining room! I’ve been having so much fun decorating and entertaining around our new table the past couple months, and I’m so excited to share this new look with you all today in partnership with Serena and Lily!

Today is also the start of their VIP preview for the Black Friday Sale, where everything is 25% off—including sale! Use code: HAPPYDAY at checkout.

For my holiday table setting I’ve started with the Poetto Vase with fresh flowers and seasonal greenery. I’ve added in the Catalonia Placement in Navy, and then layered in my plates. I love the navy scalloped detail on the edges. The combination of the natural abaca with the touch of navy brings some warmth to the all white backdrop of the Faux Bois Dining Table. On top of the plates I’ve added in the Salento Linen Napkins in Fog. I’ve added in some Holiday Crackers around the table and love the touch of gold and pattern they bring to the tablescape.

To cozy up our Shore Dining Chairs I’ve brought in the Silverwood Pillow Cover and the Stratton Pillow Cover, alternating them around the chairs. I love that they not only add in more color and texture to the space, but also make the chairs more cozy so that everyone feels comfortable enough to sit around the table for a while.

I’m so happy with the way this holiday tablescape came together, and am looking forward to hosting small gatherings here with family this holiday season. I hope this has brought you some inspiration for your gatherings this season! I’m going to link a few of my favorite hosting pieces from Serena and Lily that are sure to make your home feel extra special this season!

Home Holiday Update with Serena and Lily

I’m so excited to share my first few fully decorated spaces in partnership with Serena and Lily! I’ve been transforming these spaces over the last few weeks and I’m so happy with how they’ve come together. This year’s decor feels like it’s truly “me” and I hope it inspires you to create a look this holiday season that speaks to you!

Starting in the entryway, I’ve decorated our Balboa Dresser with just a few small seasonal touches. I’ve layered on some neutral colored books and ceramic houses on top of our Portland Bone Inlay Tray. I love the mix of neutrals here that creates a subtle and tonal look. I’ve added in some simple faux winter stems to complete the styling here.

In our living room I’ve added a lot of really fun holiday pieces. The showstopper in this room is the 24” Pinecone Wreath. It’s such a stunning piece so I’ve added it to our fireplace as a focal point. I changed up the layout this year and placed our tree by the staircase instead of the mantle to spread the holiday decor out a bit more evenly in the room. Next to the fireplace I’ve brought in our Teak Ladder in White with the Ashland Throw in Heathered Coastal Blue, and the Milo Alpaca Throw in Oatmeal. I love the cozy feel they add to the space while bringing in just a touch of color to tie in with the blue velvet bow on the Pinecone Wreath.

On the sofa I’ve brought in a new collection of pillows to give the space a wintery feel. I’ve added in a couple more touches of blue throughout to tie in with the colors by the fireplace. I will link all of the pillows below. I always gravitate towards any embroidered style pillow from Serena and Lily because they’re so high quality and give any space an elevated feel. I’ve also incorporated their new Bowden Pillow, and love the fringe of the edges—it has such a custom feel to it.

On our Hunter Coffee Table I’ve layered in the striped glass vases, and have added in one of my favorite coffee table books along with a candle and small wooden chain link object to complete the styling there. I always love using real flowers and greenery, so I’ve included some seasonal flowers in the smaller vase to pull in a touch of green. I really love the added texture of the raised white stripes and the handmade feel of these vases.

In our primary bedroom I’ve added a few seasonal touches. I’ve done the smaller 18” Pinecone Wreath above our bed, and added in some cozy touches with a couple Blakely Plaid Pillow Cover in Chambray, and the Hillview Lumbar Pillow in Sand.

I’ve dressed up our Blake Dresser with a faux garland, and a set of Taper Candles in Sterling. It’s such a pretty blue color and ties in with the blue velvet ribbon on our Pinecone Wreath so well. I’ve really been loving the blue theme that I’ve carried throughout out home this season. It feels very festive and polished while maintaining the calm and tranquil feel I always strive for.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my holiday home tour, and have been inspired as you pull together your holiday decor this year to create a space you love and are excited to welcome family and friends into this season!

Holiday Moodboards

Today I’m sharing some holiday decor inspiration in the form of a few mood boards. I know this is about the time most people start putting up their decor, so I thought you might enjoy seeing some stylish and affordable options to freshen up some key spaces. I’ve been enjoying a lot of neutral looks I’ve seen in recent seasons, so I’ve stuck with a very soft palette across all of these boards.

Gifts for the Home Chef

Today I’m sharing our kitchen shelves all dressed up for the holidays along with some great gifts for anyone who loves to cook! We love cooking and baking in our house, so I had a lot of fun sourcing these affordable options from Walmart!

One gift I picked up for our house was this slow cooker. I love the white and gold details, and it even includes a lid rest! It’s from the Drew Barrymore Beautiful line, which includes so many kitchen appliances with such beautiful styling you’ll want to keep them on your countertop! I will link some of my picks below.

Walmart has a ton of curated gift guides to help you find the perfect gift for everyone on your list this season! You can shop by price, with gift guides starting at under $15, under $25, and under $50! As well as gifts guides for him, her, kids, and teens! It’s really a one stop shop to cover everyone on your list.

I’m going to link all my picks for the home chef below! I included another one of our newer kitchen appliances on the list—our Ninja Foodi Smoothie Bowl Maker, which is on sale for $74 right now! It makes the best smoothies because of the built in paddles that allow for better blending, so your smoothie is really thick and creamy!

Guest Ready Bathroom Essentials with Walmart

With only a few weeks to go before Thanksgiving I’m making sure every space in my home is guest ready! It’s never fun to scramble to pull together these small details closer to the holidays, so I’m getting an early start this year. I found all the finishing touches I needed from Walmart Home to stay on budget and spruce our bathroom up for guests this season! Even though we’ll be hosting small gatherings with family, I still want them to feel welcome when they’re in our home.

I’ve upgraded our soap dispenser to this pretty textured ceramic dispenser for under $14! I love the additional texture it adds to the space and that it gives our bathroom a more elevated feel than having the disposable plastic container out. It’s also more environmentally friendly since you can use the large soap refill packs instead. This design also comes in stackable jar set and toothbrush holder to help you corral all your bathroom essentials stylishly.

I also grabbed this Salted Coconut and Mahogany candle to light when we have guests over. It smells great and is so large for only $12! It comes in a bunch of other great scents, too! I always feel like lighting a candle is such a simple touch to create a welcoming environment for guests that feels extra special.

Did you know Walmart offers free curbside pickup? It’s so convenient and has become one of my new go-to’s! I was able to pick my items up curbside within a few hours after ordering online. I’m going to link a few more festive bathroom finds from Walmart below, starting at only $12!

Mantel Styling with Walmart

Today I’m sharing a fun mantel styling idea! Styling is one of my favorite things, and this holiday season I’m going to be sharing our mantel styled a couple different ways to help give you ideas for your home this season. I’ve put together a neutral and cozy look with the help of Walmart, that would work especially well if you have your tree close to the fireplace like ours is.

I tend to feel like adding in more green in the garland on the mantel with the tree really close feels a little heavy, so I found a ton of great, affordable wooden garlands at Walmart that are such a fun alternative! They offer such a great assortment of styles in neutral finishes, and most are under $7! I used three different types for our mantle. I tied together two of the 6’ Natural Wood Bead Garlands, one of the 12’ Natural Wood Bead Garland, and one of the 6’ White Wool Ball Garland. I’m going to link more of my pretty garland finds below.

I also added in these twinkle lights inside some lanterns on the floor to make the space feel a little more magical! I love the soft glow they add into the space, and think they would make great fall decor as well! They’re battery operated and come in two colors—silver and copper.

I love that Walmart has so many on-trend holiday decor that’s under budget! This look was so affordable to put together. Walmart is really a one stop shop to help make your home cozy and inviting this holiday season! I’ve linked some more holiday decor finds below, and added in some more cozy finds like these gift-worthy slippers and pjs!

Fall Tablescape

From the moment our new Serena and Lily Faux Bois Dining Table and Shore Dining Chairs arrived I couldn’t wait to style them! Today on the blog I’m sharing a fall tablescape idea that I plan to use for my family this Thanksgiving. Our table before this was an apartment sized table, so regular sized dinner plates, placements, and decor didn’t really fit. Since our new table is 55” in diameter, I have plenty of room for all the tabletop decor I need to put together a beautiful tablescape for four!

I kept my tablescape fairly casual since my husband and I prefer the more comfortable feel of a relaxed holiday meal. I started with some simple whitewashed wooden chargers to add in a touch more warmth to the space and tie the dining chairs into the all white table. I’ve layered in some of our everyday plates, and elevated the look with the Salento Linen Napkins in Fog to make things feel bit more special. I always like to add in a touch of nature so I’ve done a small sprig of fall foliage on top of each napkin. I love the simple but thoughtful feel it adds to the table.

In the center of the table I’ve created a focal point with a set of Taper Candles in Fog in simple brass candle holders. I always love to include candles whenever I can in any tablescape to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. I believe these thoughtful details always make for a more memorable meal. I love the soft gray blue color of the fog candles, which give the space just a touch of color. The Taper Candles paired with the coordinating Salento Linen Napkins in Fog really give this tablescape an effortless yet custom feel.

The Faux Bois Dining Table and Shore Dining Chairs really shine in this fall-inspired tablescape. The faux twig table base and natural edge of the tabletop really help contribute to the one-of-a-kind feel this space has. Putting together this fall tablescape was so much fun, and certainly a dream come true for me to finally have the means to host a family meal with a table that has plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy! I hope this simple styling idea has inspired you this upcoming holiday season!

With about five weeks to go before Thanksgiving, there’s still plenty of time to upgrade your dining space with new furniture or decor. I’m going to link a few of my favorite dining furniture and tabletop decor below!

Dining Room Updates with Serena and Lily

I’m so excited to reveal our new dining room with you all today! This space has been on my list to update for quite a while now, and I’m so happy to share our beautiful new table and chairs from Serena and Lily!

F8433AE1-A1A4-4598-B12B-4756FE91F789.jpeg

Since we live in a small home, it’s very important to us that every single space is not only comfortable and functional, but it’s one that we’re excited to use and spend time in. We wanted to update our dining space with a new table and chairs that had a more comfortable and casual feel to them. We really wanted something that we’d want to spend time lounging in, rather than leaving us wanting to immediately head into the living room to sit on the sofa after a meal. The view out our sliding doors is one of my favorites, and I wanted to create a space for us to relax and take it in.

From the moment I saw the new Shore Dining Chair I knew it would be the perfect fit for the space! I love the more relaxed look of the rattan frame, with such beautiful lines that can elevate any dining space. The comfort and durability of the easy-to-clean seat cushion made with their Perennials fabric makes it worry free! I have this same cushion on my Balboa Armchair in my office, and it’s been holding up really well.

With so much furniture on backorder these days I really wanted my online search to only include pieces that were available and ready to ship. Thankfully, Serena and Lily has just incorporated a new feature on their website that allows you to filter for pieces that are available and ready to ship in under 4 weeks! This filter option has been so helpful for me when browsing their site lately for myself and when sourcing for my e-design clients! It really makes shopping easy and worry free, since you know that everything you’re seeing is able to be delivered to your door in under 4 weeks.

I used this filter when shopping for our new dining set, and it was so nice to only see options that I knew could arrive before the holidays. I also upgraded our table to the stunningly beautiful Faux Bois Dining Table. It’s truly a work of art. I love the unique look of this piece and all the texture it adds to the space! The faux twig base combined with the reconstituted stone top give it such a beautiful organic feel, while the crisp white color keeps it feeling fresh and bright.

Serena and Lily’s new availability filter is a game changer when it comes to shopping for the holidays this time of year. If you’re searching for new pieces for your home that you’d like to have in time for the holidays, be sure you make use of this very helpful new tool! Our new table and chairs are still in stock and ready to ship, so you can bring them home before Thanksgiving! I know we’re excited to make use of this space this holiday season. I’m going to link a few of my favorite pieces that I found via the new availability tool that deliver in under 4 weeks below!

Fall Dresser Styling

Today I’m sharing three ways to style a dresser for fall! I know it’s sometimes hard to decorate for fall while keeping a light and airy palette, so I’m sharing a few looks that incorporate a cozy vibe into your space without making it feel dark. I’m also going to share sources to the exact styling pieces I’ve used, and some similar pieces to those that aren’t available online so you can achieve the same look!

Option 1

6CF2355A-318F-4687-8B4D-D5DAE885CA1C.jpeg

For this look, I’ve added in a lot a layers with many levels of height. I’ve chosen some fall foliage as the centerpiece on top on a small stack of books, and layered in a small art piece and set of candle holders. I’ve kept the tallest pieces in the center of the dresser, and gradually layered in shorter pieces on the ends.

Option 2

For the second look, I’ve brought in some extra tall faux stems and allowed them the gently drape over about half of the dresser for a dramatic look. I’ve added in a small vintage style art piece in a tall palette, and layered in some wooden candle holders for warmth.

Option 3

For the last option, I’ve grounded the look with a large tray to corral the books and candleholders, and layered in two vases with tall florals and greenery for a bigger impact.
